Guys, my MN6 clutch sucks. A friend suggested that I might substitute a Z06 clutch and pressure plate for the stock ones. He was of the opinion that this arrangement was more positive in terms of clutch "feel" and positive "grab". The service manager thought it was a good idea but was concerned that they might not be interchangable due to splines and shaft diameters etc. In short, has anyone done this and is it workable? Thanx in advance.

In my opinion if you are going to replace the clutch why don't you step up to a better clutch set-up I got the spec 2.5 and you can see the intall here....
Midnite, I'm glad the C6 Z clutch is working for you, but for alot of C6 Z guys it's junk. It is the weakest link in the Z with alot of failures at the track (1/4 mile runs). Put your money into a good after market clutch and enjoy your car clutch problem free!!
I have the LS7 clutch in my 01 Z28 and I love it. Much better than the LS6 clutch that came in it. And tons better than an aftermarket clutch that chatters. I ran a Centerforce DFX for a while and couldn't stand the chatter, absolutely drove me crazy. Plus search SPEC clutches over on LS1tech.com and you'll find a lot of unhappy people. Stick with the new LS7 clutch, you'll love it.
