So how many RWHP i will be loosing in my stock exhaust ?? and what about the idle ?

I am thinking of getting the Corsa Sport but i duno i don't want my car to be noisy !! So should i keep my stock exhaust ??

From what I have read on the forum, not much loss with the stock exhaust or not much gain with an aftermarket set up. Something in the 8rwhp area? I would go with the quiet Corsa system if you dont mind spending the bucks, love it on my C5. I just cant see spending the dough they want for it on the C6. I went with the Magnaflow mufflers welded on the stock pipe.Total cost with install $300.

Hey, how do you like the Dynatech headers? Any problems? I just ordered some.
Thanks
Matt

So if only rwhp i think i will keep my stock exhaust on because i need a quite powerfull car not a noisy one

And about the Dynatech headers they are amazing i really feel the difference in power in my car .

Dynatech is a good choice and good luck, and let me know after you install them

Thanks .

Unless you go with something like the Bullets, you only looking at 3-7 RWHP with an aftermarket exhaust, if that. Not worth the cost. If you go with an aftermarket exhaust, buy it for sound.

You will probably need a converter too with a cam, you idle will be higher, you will need more stall.

Is it easier to make these mods if you have a manual vs. auto?? Meaning does it affect the car more if you have the auto vs. man?

it depends on the overlap of the car. The stock mufflers are pretty restrictive, imho, and if you are running a cam with a lot of overlap, then the extra backpressure would force more of the pressurized exhaust BACKWARD into the vacuum of the intake while the intake/exhaust valves are simultaneously open.

Assuming you are going with a mild street cam, however, it won't be much of a big deal. Big cams with tons of overlap need NO backpressure (cats mufflers, etc) to get maximum power. The GM racing cams (both the old WC and new WC/Grand Am style) fit this category.

Remember, when you come to a complete stop in an auto, the car is still in gear but the rpm's are low enough that the pressure in the converter does not try very hard to hard move the car forward. When you get a cam you have to increase the idle so it will take more force to stop the car since it will want move forward harder at idle.
More importantly, with a cam you lose low end power, a higher stall converter will put your rpm's back into the power band.
Do you have to have a new converter? No, should you, yes.
When the manual guys get big cams, they usually add gears too, the same idea applies, the gears will allow more rpm's, again keeping the engine in the new power range.
I'm a drag racer, so my applications are more extreme than the average guy but the same ideas still appply.
Mods should be planned out, not simply a "bunch of stuff" Buy each part knowing the whole. Have a final plan in mind before you shop start buying.
