Default What shocks to use?

Looks like I am going to want to upgrade the shocks on my base C6. Along with the Z51 sways, what shocks should I be looking at, Koni or Bilstein? OBTW, neither one of them shows a shock available for the C6, at least on their websites? Would the C5 shocks fit?

Thanks

I think there was a huge thread on this in the Autocross & Road Race section. I think the concensus was mostly to look at the Bilstein Sport or C6Z06 shocks. The extra suspension travel in the C6 over the C5 makes people nervous about using the C5 shocks from Koni & Bilstein, though.

Hopefully I'm remembering correctly. :-)

i recently installed bilstein sports on my 06z51. during the installation i noticed that the stock z51 shocks were a bit harder to compress than the new bilstein sports. i double checked the part # on the boxes and they checked out as sports. the part #s are the same for c5 corvettes. bilstein does not list a part # for c6 as of this date. after driving for a few days i'm not convinced yet if they make an improvement. if anyone else has any feedback on this switch .

I've made the switch and the difference was night and day! You sure you got Sports??? My ride is stiffer but better if that makes sense.

You can't tell much by how a good shock feels when you compress it by hand.
