Default possible swap???

I work at a cadillac dealership and yesterday a guy traded in his c6 for an xlr. Now I dont have navi and this one does and my boss said if i wanted to swap out the systems i could, which is amazing, but I get the feeling its either going to be very complicated or not possible to do. Does anyone know if this can be done, if so, is it a difficult procedure? Thanks guys .

Need to buy a new front piece and more hardware because harness is more than likely different. Should be done by a local shop that does that type of custom install work.

I think you would be better off swapping cars.

I heard it was next to impossible to do and not worth the effort, thats why people are buying aftermarket units.

I think he is messing with you. If you give it a try, let us know what you needed and/or if it even worked

The guy that I bought my in dash 6 disc changer did exactly that. He swapped the OEM nav for the 6 disc changer. I think he had the dealer do it. Sorry, I don't remember his name.

If you have a 1SB or 3LT, it'll be pretty simple since the harness is already there. The only two points are that you'll need to pull the GPS antenna from that car and put it in yours (it is located under the dash mat just above the center air vents), and you'll need to reset the anti-theft features in both radios or they won't work in their respective new cars. Since you work at a GM dealer, you should be familiar with this procedure.
