I want to wrap some things under the hood to protect against the heat the headers are giving off. I'm told the foil tape is not a good idea.
Does anyone know where I can buy the type of material that is around the o2 sensor wires? Are there other materials I can use? Please advise. Thank you.
Autozone/Advance sell little "booties" that slip over the spark plug wire ends, and could be used for other wires as well. It is basically header-wrap type material, but shaped just long/large enough to fit over the plug wire end.
You could also get a set of LS6 wires, as they had larger shields built into them.

If you have the space, most anything you can stick between the headers and whatever you are trying to protect will do the job as long as it can take the heat and doesn't touch the headers or whatever you are trying to protect.
