Hi guys It seems like the honker has the best feedback and I'm just about ready to order one but was wondering if it will change the sound of the car at all. Thanks Rob
How long did the install take?? I was told 2.5 hours and $250.00...
Count on 3 hrs unless you have done one of them before. Getting the radiator shroud out is whats so time consuming.
First you have to mark it with tape for your cut. Then you have to remove it.
Once you get it finally removed you'll have to cut it, drill the holes for the rivets, and rivet the filter frame into it. Then reinstall it. May as well count on using new fasteners to secure it to the AC condenser, as you will likely destroy the factory ones getting that shroud out.
It will lower the tone of your exhaust slightly but the best change is a very smooth throttle response.
Oh bull Fing spit it won't wistle. You deaf? Is not procharger loud but it does whistle, so does a haltech, vortec and any other intake you can name except stock.
Mine whistles too, just before 3k rpm -with the windows down it is audible and can be easily mistaken by other cars as "forced induction" noise, usually happens to me during 1-3 gears (mn6)
I am considerind the Callaway cai. The fasteners that are mentioned above...where do you get replacements. Any hints on a step by step removal that will make this easier. Are the fasteners clips or for screws?
