I installed a Vararam CAI today and then ran my C6 at E-town tonight to get some practice for the next Corvette Challenge, hit a perfect .000 light and ran my fastest time 12.515 at 113.56. My next run was .015 with a 12.515 at 113.42. The Vararam definitely works, dropped 2 tenths and gained about 2mph and its supposed to get a little quicker after 200 miles of driving. The unit is a pain to install, the template wasnt even close
Wow, nice light.
Considering that the air is not as good now (though more miles on the car helps too) as it was with your 12.7x runs I guess this proves that the Vararam really does work huh? 2/10ths and over 1mph gain is very nice.
You have the GHLs on now too right?

No GHL's, had to return them due to a vibration in the muffler, they are going to try a thicker skin on the muffler. I had a couple of runs early in the season with about the same weather as tonight and they were 12.75 & 12.77 at 110.8, the Vararam works, as far as the miles, I dont really use the car much outside of the track (1400 miles).
The Vararam, was that an improvement from the stock air cleaner or were you running another type of inlet?
I was running the stock air cleaner, I drove the car around for about an hour today, opened the hood with the engine hot, the Vararam CAI and TB were ICE COLD.
As for the GHLs, I don't know if it will make a difference in performance, but it sure will sound good going down the track.
My feeling is, if a catback drops .05 off your et and adds 0.5mph, be happy.
Then again that would put you at a 12.46@114, I am sure you would be happy with that
I also just put the Vararam on my 05 C6 and still look for my new exhaust once I have that on I will go to E Town to see what the car can do. I also agree that the temp plate for the cut out is why off,
Nice run
Congrats, that's almost IDENTICAL to my MPH with the Callaway.
I have an A6 with Honker, Headers and X, and borlas, no tune yet, I'm trapping 116. Only got to run it once so far, had a headwind and was about 75 degrees.
Hoping for a tune to put me in the 11s once I get rid of TM.

I am thinking about the headers, cat back and tune from VetteDoctors. When you ran the same time, I remember you saying you had the Borlas and Honker, maybe your right and the cat back doesnt do anything except sound great. Vararam says during the first 40 miles the car is supposed to run rich and pull some timing and after 200 miles it should be at its peak, so it may get quicker.

I didn't feel a thing with the catback to be honest.
I def felt a difference with the headers. The big things with these cars is making power down low, they don't really start going until 70mph, it's like having a honda. I think that once tuning comes out I'll put a stall in the car and solve that problem.

Your right Ed, these cars are dogs out of the hole but once they get going , they pull hard, check out this link with in-car videos of a quick C4 racing me, he kills me out of the hole but I catch him at the end for the wins. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1366855 After the race he asked me if I hit the spray, he said thats how it looked from the way I caught and went by him.
