I see that most everyone switches from the H pipe to the X pipe. Is it because there is a smoother flow in the x then the h? If that is the reason, what do you gain, and how much? Is it worth the extra $$? Thanks, just curious.
I had a long discussion with Jeff at Corsa on this very subject. Bottom line, he said that the X-Pipe provided a small HP increase (like 5 HP) & would reduce (or "soften") loudness a bit....especially the "popping" on throttle lift off. According to him, the Touring set up was approx. 25% louder than stock; Sport was 50%-60% louder; and Sport with X-Pipe was 40%-50% louder than stock. Based on that info, I ordered Sports with X-Pipe. Mufflers arrived today...X-Pipe is due on Monday. Hopefully will be able to get them installed next week. Am also installing an Elite Engineering chassis plate while I have the pipes out.
Maybe I'm wrong, but if I look at pictures of the Corsa touring system posted on Corsa's and other's websites, it appears to come with an H pipe, not an X pipe (plus something that looks like cats that are inserted before their H pipe). It therefore looks to me that if you want an x pipe for a Corsa C6 system, you might need to purchase the Corsa sport exhaust and then either Corsa's x pipe or someone else's (please somebody correct me if I've misread this).
By the way, I went with the sports, knowing I could fairly easily change over to the touring system or another brand of x pipe if I didn't like the sport setup. However, I decided I loved the sound, so stayed with the sports. HTH.

What appears in the image of the Touring set up is a pair of resonators that sit between the cats & the muffllers and act as additonal sound attenuators. The X-Pipe is not usable with the Touring exhaust; only the Sports.
Some claim HP, but it mostly changes the sound, and reduces popping.
I would think that the X does a better scavenge job. I did Borla and kept the H because I plan to get LG Headers. The LGs, I think, require a yet different X pipe. Did not want to buy 2 “X” pipes.
The other reason is the Popping Sound on Deceleration. I have grown to JUST LOVE IT.
