I think this may have been asked already, but cant find it.
Why can you not just drop an LS7 into a base c6?
Im kinda surprised it hasnt been done already....

The cost is super high for the power you get with the LS7. There are many better options.

Too many bucks for the bang and that is why you won't see it done very often.

Yep, just the cost of the engine and parts needed besides the engine will get you near Z06 cost. Cheaper and easier to get the same or more power via FI, head/cam etc.

You are probably looking at around $20,000 to do a complete swap for an LS7 (including the engine and accesories)

and, fwiw, there are more than average number of people over on the Z06 forum reporting failed engines already on their Z06's. I'd be actually scared to run one.

Default Cost

The LS7 crate engine is around $12,500. You really don't need the dry sump. So add labor, headers, intake and you've got a turnkey cost $18,000-$20,000. Now Get yourself a 402 stroker installed for about $12,000-14,000 turnkey and have more HP and TQ than the LS7. When you do the math you can see why guys haven't done them in great numbers. No reason to.
