I had Pilot Sports on my 350Z and really liked them. But, I have no experience with either tire that I am asking about. A search here revealed little. I did read the reviews on Tirerack.com. But, the responses were from owners of different cars. Obviously one of the beefs with the SCs is lifespan. Not sure on the PS2s.
In Motor Trend's latest edition, all of the tuner cars were fitted with the PS2s and seemed like they liked them.
I would also be interested in any other suggestions as well.
..... I have nothing against the Supercars, but the PS2s are awesome. They ride better, they're quieter, seem to handle as well or better, and IMO look better. Something I haven't seen mentioned is that they took very little weight to balance. The Goodyears took about three times as much per tire.
I had the F-1's on my Camaro SS, replaced them at 40K miles w/ Pilot Sports, got over 50K miles out of them. Very nice tire, great traction and handling, even in snow.
If runflats are not an issue, then its a no brainer - PS2 are much better for tread wear and performance.
I just bought new tires myself and was deciding between supercars and BDG KDw, but went with goodyears because I didnt want to worry about patching a tire or waiting for a tow.
but be careful!! The dealership (lucas chevy) ended up scratching my rims up pretty bad and I am now trying to get them to repair them.
They are a little more expensive, but the benefits outweight the extra costs. As soon as my "High Polished Wheels" get back from polishing, I'm going with the PS2s.
As for mounting them, there is a shop in town that does a fair amount of larger wheels without damage.
I like the SCs because the wear is good considering the soft compound (23k mi)and they are run-flat. I have pulled .89g without any slide or issue (like the car was on rails). Good luck with your decision.

Wow.. 23k miles... i got 9k on mine, but i also pulled 1+ gs more times than Id like to admit.

I'm actually very impressed by the new EMT's that the C6 has, but I've never been as impressed with the before-and-after tires on a car than in sports cars that have switched from OE to PS2's. The biggest difference was in my mom's 350Z Track. I recommended that PS2's when it was time for new rubber and she hasn't stopped thanking me. The difference was night and day. And that's a car that came with nice Bridgestones from the factory.
They are excellent all around tires - quiet, smooth and grippy. They're not cheap, but like a lot of things - you get what you pay for.
