I just recently bought a 2006 convetable with the polished wheels. The quality of the wheels are not what i would expect on a corvette. Certain polished sections of the wheel are differnt than other areas of the wheel. Has anyone else experianced inferior quality on their wheels.
The quality varies considerably. Some members are happy others are not. You can get them chromed at WCC . Mine were generally good. I bought Z06 chrome replica's for my vert and put them on yesterday. i will post some pics tommorow. The chrome wheels really look awesome.
Mine were absolute crap. It's appauling GM would even put out such a poor product. Color was inconsistent, dealer was of no help and GM would not respond. I was so happy the moment I ditched them
I know some others have not had issues, but the set I rec'd looked 10yrs old.
You appear to be new on the forum, so I'll spare the "do a search" lecture. I have been complaining loudly about the quality of the polished wheels since 2001. They were bad then, and they still are. GM, it seems, will never learn the concept of how to give buyers a good enough product to instill owner loyalty. They still think that doing "just enough" is enough.
The tragedy is that at $1295 they are way overpriced as well. GM sells other vehicles where they only charge $500 for polished wheels or Chrome wheels as an upgrade.
GM over charges for ANY of their wheel options ($1295 for the High Polished or $1995 for the chrome) that's why I ordered my car with the base silver panted wheels and did the WCC OEM wheel exchange.
My out the door cost to including all labor works out to $950. That's the best way to get a quality wheel. The problems with GM's polished wheels have been well documented here on the CF since 2001.

Good luck trying to get satisfaction from GM.

That what I did and am very happy. I saw the poorly polished wheels at the LA Auto Show when the C6 first came out and knew then that I would not buy GM wheels.
I was in the wheel and tire business for about 10 years and the vette wheels are PURE CRAP. I sold only QUALITY products in my business and would have been embarassed and ashamed to have wheels of this quality in my inventory. I have'em, but I bought them without looking first, because I didn't dream GM would put such junk on a 60k car. If any after market manufacturer sold wheels like these, they would be out of business pronto, and they should be.

the polished wheels sucked, I tried going to the dealer but they couldn't do any better so the chromes went on and the problem was gone! The chrome is superior when compared to the bad finish on the polished wheels.
