Default bleeding brakes

I'm about to put my brakes back together after having the calipers and brackets powdercoated. I've done a fair amount of searching and research and pretty much know what needs to be done, but I have a couple of basic questions. When I bleed the brakes I'll be introducing new brake fluid into the system; how can I be sure whatever fluid I add is compatible with what's already there? Or should I just plan on doing a system flush, replacing the stock fluid? That seems kind of a waste since I don't track the car, I've had it less than a year, and it's got less than 5k on the odo. Also, if I do a system flush, do I need to worry about the ABS circuit? One earlier thread addressed fluid choices, but it seems for my non-racing, street application, any decent DOT 3 or 4 product would be fine. Any thoughts or comment? Thanks.

I, personally, would flush the system. Even if the fluid was perfect when you took the calipers off, by the time they were ready to put back on, the fuild would ahve had plenty of chance of picking up pounds of water vapor from the air. With brake fluid in the $12-$25/pint range, how can you afford NOT to?

But you won't need to worry about bleeding the ABS module.

I recommend and use Valvoline SynPower brake fluid. It meets the specs, is a great street/track fluid and is relatively inexpensive.

They are shipping today Doug.
