I've had one for a few years.
It works well, I have no complaints.
I bought it because its cordless, its supposed to be the best cordless on the market.

In looking at the reviews, most of the cordless units do not have quite the same level of performance as the corded models. I would stick with a corded unit. Get the straight cord that can be hard wired into switched power and hidden behind the molding. - My 2c.

I have an Escort Solo 2 and it works great. I've had other brands of radar detectors that I've hard wired but I needed one that I could easily switch from one vehicle to another.

Very convenient, works well. Battery life is very good. I also had the earlier model before the Solo 2. That one took 4 AAs. This one only takes 2 AAs. If placed right, it's very difficult to see from outside the vehicle.

Wow, obviously there are debates on whether the v1 is the best.
But im pretty sure you are the 1st owner of one that is willing to get rid of it. I for one am hooked on the arrows and would never get rid of my v1.

People are mounting the remote v1 in the ashtrays...

seems like a good setup if you live in state where it's illegal..

Battery operated radar detectors will never have the range of a corded one and battery operated detectors can't detect K POP or Ka POP radar.

OK here it is!
Please remember, this was more of an experiment than an actual test. For a few of the detectors, we did a second run, and the results seemed to be consistent with the first run.

Radar used:
Kustom Golden Eagle, 35.5 GHz.

Results in number of feet from source at which the detector alerted.

Valentine One v3.826
1072 Feet

RX-65 S7 v3.6, USA Mode
788 Feet

Solo S2 w/Cord
433 Feet

Solo S2 No Cord
421 Feet

Whistler 1788 w/Cord
93 Feet

Whistler 1788 No Cord
66 Feet

PNI Silver Bullet RX7600 w/Cord
