Default Which Supercharger would you install?

A S/C is the next step in my progression. Here's what I have so far:

MODIFICATIONS MADE TO MY 2005 C6, MN6, Z-51

HORSEPOWER
TO THE CRANK = 521 TO THE RW = 443.1

TORQUE
TO THE CRANK = 470 TO THE RW = 399.8

AFR 225 Heads
Cam 224 230 581/592 114 LSA
Underdrive Pulley
Corsa Sports
Dynatech Supermaxx Headers
B&M Sport Shifter
Halltech Stinger w/CAI
160 Degree Thermostat
Tuned

The decision now becomes what is next?

Thanks,

Jeff

Since you are already making decent power on motor alone, I'd probably go with a ProCharger to allow you to have higher peak HP. The MagnaCharger is a nice kit, but you would probably find the limits of its HP making ability with those heads.

You'd have to lose the underdrive pulley for any combo though.

Harriett told me I could finish the Batmobile off with a S/C. Now I need to look into what will best fit what I've done so far and what the cost factors are.

Jeff...the ProCharger camp supports you, but their are others to consider also; Vortech & Paxton. Which ever direction you choose, a forged bottom end would be mandatory.

Good luck!

1. What's the good of all that power if you don't take it to the track?
2. You're gonna have to let me drive that bad boy one of these days!

The subliminal message I'm sending to Harriett is that the "track" is the next progression in this process, wish me luck

I'm sure we can work out some type of barter: you drive my car, you give me medical services, if and when needed

I'd say you'd enjoy the maggie better - but WAIT until I fond someone to tune my car CORRECTLY.

Your mods are similar to mine, and 99% of the tuners so far (including MAGNUSON) are CLUELESS how to get this configuration tuned right. 05 LS2 computers are just screwed up (someone with a GTO is having the same issues).

You'd have a better shot @ having the Procharger tuned correctly as boost rises gradually with RPM (vs the Maggie, where it pretty much comes in all at once as soon as you slam the pedal). The Procharger will end up giving you more PEAK HP, but the Maggie gets you to peak HP/TQ immediately.

I KNOW eventually, I'll find SOMEONE who can tune this car correctly (HP Tuners is a must), TOTALLY MY BAD for being ahead of the curve. If you're a patient man, wait until I get a good tune on my car. If not, get the procharger.

Rick

Also, you'll have to dump the underdrive pulley (hope you saved your stock one) or play "pulley games" with ANY blower, as you'll be "underdriving" the blower.

I feel your pain. Remember, we left Roger's about the same time. I'm weighing the options very carefully, don't want and don't need any aggrevation once the S/C is installed. BTW, I think Rog still has my stock pulley.

The C6 already has MAD TORQUE down low.

With that in mind, I would think the Procharger fits the C6 personality the best.

You will retain your low end torque at manageable levels, and have a top end charge that rivals any car on the road.

If you tune it right, you might even be able to retain stock runflat tires and keep your handling at supercar status also.

I currently have a C6 Vert A4/3.15 and a 2005 350Z 6 speed.
I am heavily looking into Prochargers for both.
First for the 350Z because it could use an extra 100 ponies, and then maybe later for the C6 just so I can say I have the BEST!!!

I think a Magnacharger or Turbo would give you so much low end torque you would never be able to put the power to the ground.

In the grand scheme of things a Z06 is a much smarter and better bang for the buck, but I like being DIFFERENT!!!

Forgot to say, I would change to the ATI "D"1SC head unit instead of my P1SC if I had it to do again... only a couple of hundred dollars difference, but well worth it IMHO...

I assume you have the Procharger, correct? What are you looking for that prompted you to make the offer? Is there something I should know about the Procharger or do you have other plans, such as the TT?

No here's the deal. I won't name names not that that is an issue but when I lived in Georgia I made a deal with a forum vendor to install a supercharger kit and left them a large deposit even though my car wasn't even built yet. When I decided to move back down here to Florida I never had the car done and they don't want to issue me a check only a credit which I think is BS but that is there policy and so for the last year or so I have had a credit at a forum dealer that only does prochargers and Roger and others have sold me on the Maggie because of the low end power and I don't care about the top end because I only drive the car around town not the track or high speed so the procharger doesn't make sense for my application. The down side on the maggie like your "sleeper" is the hood change but either way they both had pros and cons. You might motivate me to do a trade even if I lose money or just have them send me the procharger (the deposit covers the procharger) and have Roger install or just sell it new and then do the Maggie. I don't want to do head and cam like you have so they maggie is perfect. From what I have read and the power upgrades you can do with the Procharger and all your other mods seems to make sense but I am sold on low end power with a limit which is maggie.
Any want a deal on a Procharger?

Statements like that are silly. Sounds like a driver malfunction to me, thats what controlling the throttle is for. If we all should limit ourselves to power levels that won't spin the tires, then we should all be driving Honda Civics instead of Corvettes.

I've driven 150 rwhp cars on the street, and I've driven 1000 rwhp cars on the street. I'd never blame 'putting the power to the ground' on the car, its purely a function of my foot.
