clearing codes with accessory buttons

clearing codes with accessory buttons

does anyone know if you can read codes on the CIC by using a combination of acc. buttons like you could on the C5?

ie hold options, then press fuel 4 times (on C5) takes you into manual diagnostics

Can't be done in the C6 like the C5. I bought a $70 error code reader to do what I could for FREE in the C5. That's progress.

Equus 3030, available at Walmart for $69. Just bought one two days ago, and it works on the C6. HTH.

Yes. It's both OBDII and C.A.N. capable. Read the code (P0400 I think..."slight leak detected in emissions system"), decided car was running just fine, so I erased the code and check engine light went off and has stayed off. Reader comes with all the generic codes listed in the user's manual, and comes with a CD (but I haven't had time to check it out) that MIGHT have vehicle unique codes in it (but you can get all the C6 codes off the web, just do a Google search for them or search the Forum - think somebody already posted them here). HTH.
