Check Engine Light- PO451 code question

I have had this code on three times in the two months I've had the car. It came on twice after I washed the car- it is the gas cap pressure code I think. I have erased it with my scanner tool and it stays off for a while...but I suspect it will go back on again. Has any one else had this problem and is there a permanent fix without taking it back to the dealer? No mods yet, BTW, but coming soon.

Did you check your cap to make sure it has a good seal?

Code 0451 is Fuel tank pressure (FTP) Sensor performance ECM. If it was the cap the DIC would say check gas cap. I would take it to the dealer.

Thanks....Was trying to avoid the dealer.......I am assuming it isn't serious...

Had same problem. Off for couple weeks, now almost daily. How can it be gas cap loose when you don't have gas cap?
