Posted before when it broke right after got the car. It binds and wont
move between the gears. Wont shut the lights off, locks the door and
have use the release to get out. Well they replaced the shifter at
150+- miles it has 500 now and broke again. Car is a month old.
They arent going to mess with it till they talk to GM which is
fine with me since dont feel comfortable driving the car anymore anyway.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I just rolled 4000 miles on my vert with the A6 (bought on 11/03/05). I haven't had any problems with the shifter on mine. Good luck with getting yours fixed right!
PS- Sic em Bears!

Its going to be sometime before feeling comfortable driving that car.
If they can fix it. It might just be a lemon
4000+mi on the A6 and no problems. I do notice at wot on a couple of occasions I hit the paddle and it failed to shift up a gear. I'm still trying to determine if I failed to press hard enough on the paddle or the shift did not register electronically?
With the trouble you are having I would see if it falls under the lemon law. I hope you get it sorted out.
I have the A-4 from 2005 and when I put the shifter into park the DIC says "Shift to park" So I have to jiggle the shifter a bit and then the warning turns off.
Mine gives no warning, the selector will not move, just binds up.
First time they had to pull it out of the garage onto a flat bed,
this last time was lucky it bound in drive and could drive it over
to the dealership. I think they have one more try by law till
the lemom takes effect. All said was they are not going to work
on it till talk to GM this time
but not only that going to start having rattles and no telling
what else since has been taken apart so many times. Right
now wish had kept the C5
It seems GM is aware of the problem. They dont have a fix, not sure what it is. They put in another shifter (ordered when got my first, so had a replacement). All the tech told them to tell me was when putting in park is let it rest a bit before shutting off. That is going to be PIA. I did ask if had a time frame on a fix all said was maybe a month, maybe three. So guys it may be something that is just starting to crop up as too why were are not seeing any reports here. Sounds like wont be driving the car far from a Chevy dealership

I have shut the car off in drive (used to driving MN6) several times and then put it in park when it flashed on the DIC. Maybe that is a better solution?
My shifter locked up with 750 miles on it at four days old. Since it's been replaced I have had no problems other than button rattle. It now has 3400 miles on it, and I don't shut it down any special way. Maybe you just got two bad shifters in a row, and the third time will be the charm. Good luck with it.

Will see they seem to thinks its going to do it again. Hoping the
third is a charm but. In messing with it they got it go from park
to reverse, all gears without pressing the buttom. IT moved freely
so something has to be amiss in the drivetrain someplace
