06 a6 stock dyno numbers :(
all runs done in paddle mode-bone stock, 95 deg-dynojet
1. 4th gear pull 315/315
back to back
2. 4th gear pull 315/315
car sits for 10 min with ice on the intake and temp gets to 205.
3. 3rd gear pull 320/315
now is this normal for stock dyno numbers on an a6? I know it will get better when it gets more miles on it, but 80 hp loss from crank to wheels, wtf?
I don't think 350 RWHP is normal. I believe it's closer to 325-340.

Some manuals might be in the 345 - 355 range but not automatics.

Also, the 95 degree temps will make a huge difference to. The ice helps, but it won't completely alleviate heat soak. Don't sweat it too much.
I haven't dyno'd my C6 nor do I plan on it (unless I'm getting tuning/programming done)...the only dyno I use is 1320 feet long with pretty lights on it.
First off, 95 degree temps and a hot car kill power.
For instance, my HOT C6 Vert A4/3.15 ran a 12.99 and a 12.90 (both at 107mph) when I first got to the track with HOT coolant temps.
I let the car cool down and ran again and with no changes ran a 12.57@110.67.
That equates to a 30-40 horsepower gain (24-32rwhp gain).
That was in 50 degree temps.
A 400 horsepower automatic cooled down with normal temps should lose 18-20% to the wheells, so 320-330rwhp is the normal range.
Also, some dynos read high, some low, it is just a tool used for tuning.
I don't care if my car only pulls 300rwhp, it still runs 12.5s and that is the number that counts.
Hope this makes you feel a bit better,
Howard

take it to the track, thats where the real number counts.
On a hot spring day with 500 mi (83* / 70% Humid / 360') - 16.7 @ 78 mph
On a cool autumn day with 30,000 mi (50* / 40% Humid / 360') - 15.6 @ 81 mph
I think that is way more gain than just the conditions can account for.
I would redyno after 2000 mi. Use a dynojet. A different one (if that was a dynojet). Some dynos are just stingy. Get your HP corrected to SAE.
