I have been contemplating getting the LG setup for my car. The question I have is if I decide to go with the setup that comes with the cats and down the road i want to get rid of the cats is there a piece that they sell to go in place of the cats? I know with some mustang exhaust systems if you order a setup with cats, they also send you the cat delete pipe. Is this possible with the LG? or will i have to buy a whole different x pipe if i decide to go catless later.
Mine came with just Cats, but you can ask for the tubes that replace the Cats. I found an article on LG's on a C5 and they only gained a couple of horsepower when they took the Cats out. I think it's worth keeping the Cats in to reduce rasp and clean the air.
I didnt figure they would come with the extra tubes but i was just wondering if it would be a simple swap down the road if i wanted to take out the cats. Im torn on cats or no cats. I dont need them here in florida but im afraid wiht bullets and no cats its going to be insanley loud. I like loud but i like to drive and hear my music or passenger as well. Plus i cant stand the smell of a car wiht no cats.
Get the Cats, you won't regret it. Not only does it smell better, it sounds better. If you run without Cats your car can have a Raspy sound. Then it's also good for the environment and all with only a loss of 2 hp. Of course, they do cost you $300 extra.
Well thats great. I dont mind the 300 bucks and 2hp is no big deal. Id rather run the cats anyway i guess, but if i went to the track or soemthing i could take them out pretty quick and turn off the o2's
Thanks for the help guys....another question answered. Great site.
Gasman, Please post your before and after dyno results, and your overall impression of the LG's. I'm leaning towards them myself...thanks!
I will let ya know. I dynoed about a month ago at their Dyno day and made a best of 432 rwhp. Kinda sucked, but it was hot. It will be hot again tomorrow as well. I am changing the tranny and diff fluid to Redline, installing the exhaust switch, 160 stat, as well as the Abs of Steel plate. I was going to get the Halltech RACE filter too, but they won't be ready by tomorrow. I will add it later.

I believe LG estimates no cats vs high flow cats will gain 5-8 RWHP. And yes without cats, the car will smell like an old 60's muscle car.
This should be an easy switch although I have not done so personally. I looked it over and it looks like you would need to unbolt the cat back exhaust. Unbolt both ends of the sleeve/cat switch them out and then rebolt everything. I would estimate 2 hours if I was doing it including the time to put the car on jack stands.
Yea, it wouldnt be a hard swap if it was able to be done. I was just questioning if the x pipe was the same lenght whether you order with or without cats.

I spoke to Anthony at LGM when I ordered mine. He said that it would be 5-7 rwhp difference, with all things being equal, as they had just ran the comp on their dyno. They should come with the race pipes if you order the cats, but I would remind them. I have LG's, with the bullets, and wow what a tune. I am, at this moment, waiting for them to ship me the race pipes. They were out of stock at the time and they need to have them jet coated too. Will post the results. I am going deaf woohoo............

they used to seel it with both but now you have to ask if you want the cat delet tubes. the x pipe is in a couple pieces to make it easier to ship the system. so swapping them out is a matter of undoing the cats and installing the new down pipes if you will.

I just bought mine a few weeks ago, and they came included in the box. I didn't even ask for them, since I'll never use them. LG definitely sells great stuff, but they're not the most organized bunch...
