Default Seat doesn't move into driver position?

Hi guys - 15k miles on my C6 and just last week this started:

About 50% of the time now, when I get in and hit Start, the steering wheel will telescope but the seat will not slide forward to Driver 1 position. I can hit the Driver 1 button on the door all day and nothing. But, if I then move the seat with the adjustment switch, a little, and THEN hit the 1 button, it'll go the rest of the way.

I haven't really remembered a problem the other way (i.e. seat not sliding back to Easy Exit when I shut down and open the door)

What's this, then?

I had that problem intermittently in my C5. I found that, if I got out of the car and moved the seat all the way up and all the way back once or twice, the problem would disappear for another six months or year. It seemed like the seat motor was getting "stuck," perhaps due to dirt on an electical contact somewhere, and moving it around with the seat switch fixed it.

I had the same problem... Intermittently couldn't get the seat to move to the drivers position, also sometimes would not move with the seat side controls either.
In day while it was holding me hostage ( I couldn't reach the pedals well enoug tho drive) I reched under the seat and mover the wiring harness with my hand and....ureeka.....everything worked again.
took the car to the dealer and he found a bad connector in the seat wiring harness.
You might want to check it out.

Or try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or more to let the system reset. Then redo your memory settings.

And make sure that you're using fob #1 for the #1 memory buttons.

Also make sure that you haven't inadvertently programmed the exit button to a seat position, or visa versa. I've done that one!

There's a TSB out about seat wiring connectors snagging on the carpet and partially unplugging themselves. Very simple fix, just fully snap them back together then reroute so they won't catch on the carpet when the seat moves.
