Nothing works
Each key fob does absolutely nothing... Like the battery is totally dead. How do I open the hood and what could be the problem. ??????????????
'05 MN6 it could very well be DBS. Automatic probably not.
Of course a bad battery or low charge for any number of reasons also applies.
Charge it up real good, and if everything is back to normal you're probably good to go. You might have to reset some of your memory items.
Let your dealer know.
If it happens again, certainly have the battery and charging system checked, and get a prioritystart module (do a forum search) to prevent further episodes.
If it's a dead battery, when you do get a good battery installed or charged up, window indexing is one of the things you'll probably have to reset.
Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done. Then do the other window the same way.
Thanks all. It was without a doubt a dead battery. I know I shut it down properly But it was dead as a doornail. I put it on a quick charge and it fired up OK. Do I need a new battery??????????

Very likely. Batteries don't go dead for no reason. If you did not leave a light on or fail to shut down properly, it's a battery problem. In my own experience in all kinds of vehicles, unless I've left a dome light on it's almost always a cell going bad and it will strike again, soon. You can either have the old one tested for a bad cell, or you can wait until it happens again, your choice.

Charge it real good and watch things. Usually you do not need a new battery. You do lose a little battery stamina any time it dies totally, but mine is fine at 20 months, and probably 3 or 4 episodes of stone dead DBS, and 2 other technician induced dead batteries. My original battery is fine. If I lived in Minnesota I'd probably replace it before next winter.

You have an '06 so maybe you don't know about DBS. Do a search for DBS in '05 MN6 cars on the forum. It's a relatively common, although still unexplained reason for a dead battery.
