Default Help.....Fast Intake Manifold

I'm looking at this Fast Intake Manifold, http://www.lingenfelter.com/store/54003.html

It says its for use with 90mm throttle body, what size is the stock throttle body for LS2? So far I have KOOKS 1 3/4" LT's, Borla Stingers, Vortex Ram air. What type of power increase would be expected with this manifold? And would it fit with stock throttle body? Where could I look at a aftermarket throttle body? Thank You

The LS2 has the 90mm TB.

The only problem you have installing the Fast is that the back of it extends farther to the rear than the OE one. Look on the LPE site and you'll see a part that takes care of that. You have to cut a hole in the area behind the manifold and install the LPE kit (or I guess you could just leave a hole ). I'll try and find an old thread that has good info on this mod.

Butt....as far as the 90mm TB, you've already got one.

I think you're talking 7-10 hp for the Fast.

Yea I saw that about the extended firewall and something else you need to go with it. Thanks

They also have a kit to relocate the MAP sensor, but I'm not sure you need that.

Here's a link to some pictures of the Fast. I couldn't find the pictures of the hole in the firewall.

Also, I think guys are getting about the same hp gains by just porting their OE manifold. I think there's a forum vendor that's porting them for something like $250 - that may be the better deal.

Thanks for digging up that thread. It looks like I will need the firewall mod. kit, and a LS2 map-relocation kit, which I can get from Lingenfelter with the manifold. But it also looks like I will need LS1 injector O-Rings and oversized washers for the fuel rail. Will I also need a tune after installation? So far I haven't had a tune with the few mods I already have. If anyone knows of a reputable tuner in the Clearwater/St. Petersbug FL area please let me know. Thanks again

Here's a link to a site that has all the part #s you might need:

FAST Intake Info

You'll probably definitely want the 54030 firewall kit. (I think it's about 50 bucks)

I don't know whether you really need the 54029 MAP relocation kit. (If you get it I think it's about 65 bucks)

There are 8 rubber seals and you can reuse the OE ones (unless you tear one taking it off). If you need or want new ones, they are the 54009-8 part. (I think about $20 for all 8 from forum vendor TByrne)

You'll definitely want the 54026 fuel rail adapter kit. (I think it's about 4 little plastic spacers and bolts. IIRC you have to spread the OE fuel rails apart just slightly and they fit right on the Fast Intake with these little spacers. I think the kit is only like 6 bucks).

Good luck,
Bob

P.S.: This is all coming from memory 'cause I've got this stuff in my garage and I'm going to put on the manifold in a week or so - I'm out of town right now).

I'll back him up, I know his porting job was good for some horsepower, he can still wax my rear!

if you are doing a cam/heads or force induction....fast will get you more hp/tq...but you do have to mod the firewall....and you can't go back to stock if you go that way....if you are just doing bolts on, porting / polishing the l2s intake will get you close to fast for a lot less money...i don't know any one that does porting in Dubai....i have dones some porting in my younger days, so it was no big deal to try that on my ls2 intake..but you have to be careful, because some area are very thin...and you don't want to poke a hole in there...i guess, it can always be repair if you want to try it...or just spend the money and mod the firewall for fast. good luck.

Tony Mamo showed long ago repeatedly that the FAST yeilds 12rwhp not 7-10 and the average gain is closer to 20 with a cam/heads. Ported the FAST gets up to 27rwhp as shown by Patrick on LS1tech.
FI guys like MR.BIG on this board got 30+. for 760 which texas speed sells it for, it is a clear best bet. I have seen repeated better results on this board. with guys getting 20+hp and up to 30tq. The only guys crying lower numbers are the guys that dont have it.

For those getting one, the following are facts not something I read:

The bolts for the stock TB will not fit
You need LS1 o-rings
The LS2 fuel rail mounting holes dont line up-get washers
The rear firewall cut takes 30 minutes and is very minor
The map sensor wires need to be extended
The TB will sit further forward requiring some mods to the airbridge
It always performs better than the people that dont own one say.

Thank you, I have one question. MODS TO THE AIRBRIDGE? I have the vortex ram air setup, I don't know if there's any way to move the boot forward (the wide flat piece connecting the airbox to the TB).

Also, I cannot find the FAST at texas speed, its not listing any products for 05-06 corvette intake, except a K N filter???

Call them and ask for it. I bought two from them. The airbridge componenets may need some trimming to allow them to fit together closer if you want to use the stock hold down tabs.

Here are some links to our firewall mod kit and our MAP relocation kit:

MAP relocation kit:
http://www.lingenfelter.com/Merchant...Category_Code=

Firewall mod kit:
http://www.lingenfelter.com/Merchant...Category_Code=

We can ship them to you direct, and we also sell a lot of parts to Liberty Auto in Dubai, you might want to check with them and see if you can order through them.

Let me know if I can answer any questions,
Ed
