I have been considering getting a Procharger installed on my 06. Used to have a C5 with a maggie, but i dont want to have to replace the hood. The car is stock other then corsa exhaust. It is an A6. how reliable with the car be as my daily driver? What should i be looking at for price + install and tune? Any advise is needed and appreciated as i want to be sure i do this right. I want to be on the saferside instead of highest HP available.
When it comes to a ProCharger, under normal driving conditions you will never know the extra power is there. However in the 2500+ rpm range and under full throttle you will find massive power. I am at 521 rwhp and can still get 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway driving as long as I drive sensibly. As far as pricing goes you can get a ProCharger installed for as little as $8,000.00. Price goes up with the addition of headers, gauges and any other power adders, tuning and trim. Good luck.

I'm adding the D1SC this month to my C6 that already has heads, cam, headers and exhaust. Let you know soon. My price will be just over $8,000 and that includes the D1SC, 60#injectors, KB fuel booster, gauges, tune and install.
I have an A6 06' with the Procharger. Made 527 RWHP and 484 TQ. It is a beast on the street. Easily mid 11's. At the track the TQ Management kicked in since the tires do not break loose and ran a 12.40. My buddy has an 02 TT that at 10 PSI of boost he runs an 11.3 all day long. I can stay next to him on the street but at the track he blows me away. The problem should be solved for the 06' A6 shortly as HP Tuners will have the tune out in a week or so to remove the TQ Management. We put my car on the laptop with the HP software and can see 18 degrees of timing being pulled between shifts. No good.
Other than that it is great and drives like stock until you hit it. People will think you have a bad belt from the sound of it. Very cool.
Jeff, rear tires are stock size 285s.
I have a new set of rims for the front and rear and I will be running a 295 on a 11'' rim in the back.
Spoiled996, reliability will depend on the installer and tuner
I have had no issues other than a hot starting problem related to small fuel rails from the factory.I have changed over to a set of Aeromotive fuel rails and have had no problems since
If you want to consider an alternative, I have about 3k miles on a custom vortech unit. As a dialy driver it's as smooth as silk and very quiet. But, when you need power on demand it delivers. I'm currently running 505 RWHP and it's about all I need. I'm running 325's in back and don't have any real traction issues so I'm totally happy with this car as a daily driver ...and at times I hammer it pretty hard!
