back in the day, i had a ls1 ta. it went from a 13.5 @ 105 to a 13.11 @ 110 with just a lid and full exhaust. then 12's @ 115 with a TR224 cam. the C6 is lighter and the motor responds better to mods.
Actually I don't think it does. Take a look at the 1/4 times in the sticky. I think GM greatly improved on the LS1, with the LS2. So the same basic bolt-ons that were giving great results to the LS1s are basically already done from the factory with the LS2. It's already capable of 12s, and 115mph traps are not out of reach. It took the LS1 I/E and a cam to best what the LS2 does stock. So to get a big jump in performance on the LS2 you need to really up the HP and that costs big bucks. The basic I/E/tune isn't cutting it anymore. Great for those who leave it stock. But for those who want to make the car faster themselves, it's going to take a lot more than it did with the LS1s.

You actually believe that a CAI, headers, Tq converter and tune on a Z51 C6 will beat a Z06, I think you better go back and find that guy.

That Z51 running 11.7ets had to have head/cam work ect,ect
Check out all the posts relating to "fastest C6 1/4 mi times" it shows mods and corresponding 1/4mi et's for all the C6 owners on the forum.[/QUOTE]

Hey guys. Like I said before, you dont have to believe me. The guy and everyone at the track (on corvette day a couple of weeks ago) had no reason to lie. Even the guy with the Z06 knew what the guy had. There was no lope in the car at all, so he would have had to have a stelth cam. So why wouldnt he and everyone out there just say that. Its not a big deal. They knew how much he paid and exactly what the parts were. Then they told me to go talk to the guy myself and I did. Even seeing the car leave the track just sounded like a car with a nice exhaust. There were several guys out there with C6 Z06's and they all said that the guy with the C6 had the best time out there as far as C6's goes. They all knew his mods. Plus they were doing the races where they try to match their own time, so I dont know if that had anything to do with the Z06 not runing harder towards the end. All I know is that the C6 won and ran 11.70 et. No heads and cam and no power adders.

Well that depends.

How fast do you want to go?
How much $$ are you willing to spend?
How reliable do you want the car?

Granted this motor can take a beating but the more power you put thru it the greater chance there is of breakage. Not to mention that constant tuning is a bitch.

And if you do plan on going further with the car later on, it will be helpfull if you decide what you wanted to do, now. Basically, most of the bolt-ons can be done now and used again later if you decide to go further. This is of course unless you decide to go TT(twin turbo). Then the headers/intake are void. But with a S/C, heads/cam, or cubes, you can still use most of it. "So choose. But choose wisely."

very true.. i may just add som basic bot-ons and wait to do bigger cubes in the far future after warranty goes. ( i know some of the bolt-ons do void some of the warramty)
