Default Headers or Corsa?

Have a guy that bought Corsa's for his c6 and didn't like them.I was planning on only putting headers on as I thought I read on here that exhaust doesn't really do anything for these cars.I have an A6 Z-51 Vert.Is this true.I love a louder car but was thinking if the headers make it louder and also add more HP,shouldn't I go that way?The only other mod I may do is a 75 shot.please let me know what my best choice would be.
Thanks
Derek

I have both, the corsas sound nice but no horsepower. The headers by themselves give you some power and increase the volume of the stock exhaust.

If I were in your shoes I get long tube headers.

Get the headers. Cat backs are a waste of money. You can get louder using Magnaflow 14336 mufflers. Although with an auto there may be some resonance or drone that the corsa's won't have.

I've got both as well, Kooks 1 3/4" long-tubes and the Corsa Touring cat-back. If you want nice looking tail pipes, mufflers and somewhat of a nice sound and no gains in power, go Corsa. If you want extra hp, like 20-30 at the wheels and a bad-*** sound, go long-tubes.

What kind of LT's would you suggest?

bunk22: I've got Corsa touring, can I [did you] add Kooks to it.
How does it sound, I don't want it too loud.

How much difference in sound do the LT's make? What is the change at idle vs. WOT?

Yeah, I added the Kooks to the Corsa. That obviously included the Kooks catted pipe to fit to the Corsa's. It's louder but not obnoxious. I'm talking at WOT and a little bit at idle. Hardly notice it in the car. It has a much more aggressive note when you get on it. Hope that helps.

An exhaust alone will get you some power. "Vette" magazine did a review on the Corsa Touring model last year and gained 12.9rwhp on the dyno just with the cat-back. I'm running the Kooks long tubes and their hi-flow cats and X-pipe with the Corsa Sports. It ends up being a trade-off. I have no drone with this setup but not quite the sound I'm looking for. (higher pitched than I want). I know if I switched out the exhaust, I'll have to deal with the DRONE issue.
