Default C6 Auto Trans Torque Rating Question

I am considering have a Supercharger by 21st Century Muscle Cars:

Package includes:

• Magnuson "Magnacharger" intercooled supercharger - silver painted finish
• Properly sized fuel injectors
• Fuel system upgrades
• 160 Degree thermostat
• Lingenfelter C6 high flow air intake
• Lingenfelter C6 SC Hood or RK Sport C6 supercharger hood
• Professionally painted & installed
• Professional installation, testing and calibration

Package price with Lingenfelter C6 supercharger
hood installed
Supercharger Cam Pkg
Dynatech Headers/labor
Auto Trans upgrade
Lingenfelter fuel rail covers
smaller dia pulley & belt

I was wondering if anyone knows how much Torque/HP the C6 Auto Transmission can handle without having to have it rebuilt? I am not sure if I should spend the extra $$$ to have mine rebuilt if it will work fine under normal driving conditions.

Forget the exact numbers, but the A6 has a heavier duty torque rating than the A4 (470 vs. 450 I believe). The A4 can be built up now, where as the A6 is waiting on performance parts (i.e. no TC or beefed up parts available). Lots of stock A4's behind Maggies, and it should live fine...depending on your driving habits! The Maggie torque #s are in excess of all GM stock tranny ratings.

John and all the guys at 21st are great to deal with. My car is going in for H/C, suspension, tranny, etc. in 3 weeks.

How did you make decision on Maggie vs Procharger or APS-turbo?

Are there A6 tranny upgrades available (?) in your write up you mention tranny upgrade, curious what 21st MC does to upgrade an A6, especially when A6 tuning not yet available....reason I am so curious is a C6 A6 with FI is a very appealing combo.

Default C6 Auot Trans Torgque Rating Question

I was going to look at the Procharger, but I was told by 21st that they are tired of working with them and won't do them anymore. I have had a Maggie before and really liked it.

As far as the trans goes, Lingenfelter has done 4 of them and they all are currently running well without any trans modifications. Currently, there are no mods available for the new C6 Auto Trans.

GM's max rating for the 4l60-e is 670 ft. lbs. and the 6l80-e is 664 ft. lbs at the gear box after the converter, but input torque is higher with the 6l80-e as it has a very low STR rated converter,
But a 4l80-e is rated at 885 ft lbs by GM input torque ? and both are rated 80's

Thanks for the info! Looks like I won't have to worry because my setup will only be about 550 ft lbs of torque.
