Default Help...front drivers directional not working

My front drivers directional doesn't work, the blink rate for the others is faster and the extended directional to pass isn't working. Any idea if this is a bulb gone or a fuse. Looked in manual, doesn't seem to be a fuse for this.
Thanks

I assume you mean one of the turn signal bulbs in the front isn't working. If one, either left or right, isn't working, the bulb is blown. If both are out in the front, but the rears still work, you've got an electrical problem.

If it is one of the fronts, there is an access flap in the wheelwell that lets you get in to change the bulb. It is awkward, easier if you remove the wheel, but once you get the hang of it, it is a 5 minute job even with the wheel still in place. Use the search function to find detailed bulb changing instructions, or simply read your owner's manual.

You can use the common and inexpensive 3057NA bulb available at Walmart, Autozone, etc to replace the failed bulb. Or you can pay the big bucks at the GM parts counter for the special long life bulb they sell. In my experience, the long life bulbs don't last any longer than the common 3057NA bulbs.

Do use bulb grease (which GM didn't), and your replacement bulb will last much longer. (Bulb grease improves thermal contact, letting the bulb run cooler, and keeps moisture out of the socket, reducing the chance for corrosion, always use bulb grease when replacing automotive bulbs.)

For best turn signal bulb life, always turn off the DRLs when starting the car. GM used the turn signal bulb as the DRL, and turn signal bulbs aren't designed to burn continuously. Dumb design.

Its not the bulb or a fuse. The front directional sockets are defective in some vehicles. Remove the bulb check to see iif the filiment is in tact. If it is put some dielectric silicone in the socket and replace and test. It may solve the problem . If not see your friendly dealer . There is a bulletin that callls for replacing the socket. Can't understand why the problem is only on the left front siginal??? I had the same problem. Sometime it would flash fast and no light, other time a fast flash and the bulb would light. Let me know how you make out.

Mine went out twice.

Go to Auto Zone get the bulb

Pop open the rubber flap in the inner fender

Reach in with a set of vice grips turn the turn signal assembly down

Remove and replace the bulb (mine was a beeooach to get out)

reverse and it should be good for a while!

Default Poor connection

Well, after hitting 2 auto stores for a replacement bulb, I find that the part # is unknown by O'Reillys or AZ. OReilly's looks up in one of their catalogs and it says bulb 3457, so I buy a pair, though their not as dark amber as the stock bulb, which best I could tell had its filaments intact.
I get home and log on and find all of your great suggestions. Hmmmm, guess I may not need the bulb. I look at the 3 wires connected to the socket and see that one is loose. After inspecting the terminals, I conclude that they are bent or broken, and a p*** poor design, as well.
Did a little metal adjustment, lubed it up with dielectric silicone and reconnected. The bulb is indeed fine and it was just a poorly designed connector that evidently loosened.
Thanks all for the help. I hope the sharing of info and experience helps someone else out!

Yipes! Vice Grips? Well, you just broke the retaining latch. If you had reached in with your fingers you could have depressed the locking tab and very easily turned the socket a quarter turn and removed it without breaking the latch.
