Default LS2 with Torquer V2 or Torquer V3 question

hello everybody, not a vette owner here, but i'm really curious about you guys opinion since i've been reading a lot about the cam selection you have for the c6 vette. found some torquer v2 info around here, and the v3 around an fbody forum.

TSP Torquer v2 specs: 232/234 .595/.598 112
TSP Torquer V3 specs: 231/234, .643/.598 112

current mods in my sig, (2006 Impulse Blue Metallic GTO M6
SW LT Headers, Magnaflow X Pipe, Magnaflow Mufflers,LPE CAI
Soon: Ls7 Clutch/Flywheel, still undecided Cam)
stock gearing, i'll have the ls7 clutch/flywheel installed in about 2 weeks, so the cam would go right after clucth break-in. the gto is way heavier than the c6 vette, so i was wonder if down low tq would be a problem with the v3 and the goat???

Hi bluegoat,
First if you havent done anything to your pistons then go for the v2, the v3 just heve too high lift to clear the piston.
And if your ls7 flywheel has been used by an ls7 engine, then you must balance it, because gm balances the ls7´s by adding weight to the crank dampner and/or the flywheel where it´s needed.

Good luck, the ls2 is a great engine, and you´ll see lots of power with the v2 and a good tune.

P/V clearence is not only about the lift. It has to do with duration in conjuction with lift. Get you saying right before giving suggestions. The V3 is exactly like the Thunder Racing TRak cam that is going into my car this week. I'll be sure to let you know the p/v clearance is working great when I post the dyno numbers.

I agree. the V2 was designed so the pistons would not have to be touched, even with aftermarket heads. Plus it been proven time and time again. I got 47 RWHP with it

Thanks everybody, never been around the net this far researching about cams and what not
more likely i'll go the v2 or smaller, maybe something like Comp XR281HR, 228/230, .571/.573 112, perhaps a tad bigger like HPE C-cam 236 238 .601 .605 112lsa, dear good, it is really hard to make a decision around so many choices....

None of them will be a bad choice for you. 236/238 is pretty big. You may need gears with that cam just get better drivability. All of them will net you 40-50hp gains at the wheels.

Actually the peak lift plays a very minor roll in P/V clearance.
