Default Dont like my Bullets, selling them?

Installed B & B Bullets over the weekend. Although I like the sound, my lady can't deal with the drone.. And being a big part of my life, I just need something less loud, but more than stock. Ideas?

I admit, it is very drone-y at 1,300 to 1,600 RMP. Out of that range it isnt that bad, but still more than I wanted.

My question is, I am going to sell them here or on EBAY. Paid $829 including tax at Corvettes of Houston. Have the box and packing material. I can switch them out in a day. (PM me an offer if you want them, I'm easy)

Presently they have 400 miles on them. I dont know what to get now, I guess back to stock. Thoughts?

If drone is an issue for you, there aren't many options, and I've tried LOTS of them on my C6. Corsa doesn't drone, but the sound isn't what some of us are looking for. The reports on the Magnaflow catback are great, with a better sound than stock and very little drone. I'm waiting for my system to arrive in a few day.

I don't even try to sell stuff on this forum anymore, since you get bombarded with so many lowball offers. eBay brings more money and much less stress.

Magnaflows.. thanks man... Wonder how Magnaflow will work with the A4.. Apparently, the Bullets are worse on the A4 than other setups...

Thanks for the selling advice too.

I want the sound and no drone as well....Seems like all the current manufacturers haven't got the drone issue resolved.

I decided on the Zoomers Exhaust after reading good posts on non-drone with the A6. Plan on bolting them up this weekend and trying them out.

Works great. Been running mine for 18 months (12 months with Kooks headers). The A4 puts the Bullets in the drone zone big time. I swapped mine out for a friend's set of Bullets just to see and they drove me nuts. The Magnaflow is almost as quiet as stock at 70mph cruise in the A4, very little noise at all under light acceleration (in the cabin). Sounds aggressive over 3000rpm. Very good compromise exhaust for sound and sanity in a daily driver (or car that has some sensitive passenger/driver ears ).

I have a C6 Vert A4, I had the Bullets and it was TERRIBLE.

The DRONE was nuts.

I swapped it for the Magnaflow #15884 catback, while not quite as aggressive as I would prefer, it is by far the best sounding exhaust I have heard for the A4.

Now I just bought a 2nd C6, a coupe with a manual tranny.

It sounds decent stock, much better than the A4 stock, and it would probably be tolerable with the Bullets, but I am still leary.

With that said, from the outside NOTHING sounds as good or aggressive as the Bullets.

I am tempted, but scared at the same time.

Howard

you might want to try putting two resonators in the stock H-pipe

this solution has killed drone in a lot of other V8 setups that I and my friends have owned.

You can try and squeeze them right after the H or try to get two small ones to fit in the open area right after the cats.

They're like $40 each and probably $50 - 100 to have them installed.
it might be a better solution than taking a $200 loss on the system and buying another $1000 system.

The BASSINESS is what kills you, it just feels like your head weighs 300#s

I think the Magnaflow system is the sound you are looking for, but it is alot of $$$.

I bought mine pre-owned for $500 and it was WELL WORTH IT!

Another option is:

Weld on two Magnaflow mufflers for like a total cost of $300 or the Flowmaster catback which is available for under $400.

Good luck,

Howard

Yep, its the bass.. Several of you are telling me Magnaflow 14335's.. Gotta be the ticket. What did you do for tips? Weld the stock to the Magnaflow?

I did the complete Magnaflow #15884 system with the x-pipe and everything, but many have put the mufflers on and then welded the stock tips to them.

I have a set of 14335's in the garage that I'm going to weld into an extra stock system during the next week or two, but they don't look anything like the mufflers that come with the Magnaflow catback system. The exits are even on different sides of the muffler. I doubt that they'll sound like the full system, but we'll know soon enough, since I'll try both systems on the same car.

I vote for the Flowmasters too. No need to cut or weld anything, so you can easily go back to stock if you want, $360 shipped to your door from Summit Racing. In my opinion the Dual pipes look good.

I have Kooks LT's, no cats, and Borla Stingers. My girlfriend loves it, I suggest a different woman rather than a different exhaust.
