My 2006 A6 (4K miles) occasionally has a very abrupt (rough) up shift or down shift when the car is not under load. Typically happens with lower gears; maybe 1-2/2-1 or 2-3/3-2. Any insights? Didn't check fluid but suppose is fine.
Mine's been doing it too. 1900 miles and it's been doing it ever since I got it. I thought it was just me. Mine's more pronounced on the downshifts and in the lower gears.
I have only noticed this when braking heavy and turning. Sometimes it seems to take a few seconds for it to find the gear. I only notice it if I ask for throttle, then there is nothing there, then bam it slams into gear. I get around that by being just a tad slower on throttle uptake or I put it into manual if I want instant response. BTW it only seems to happen in lower gears.
Well, I'd watch it closely. Mine crapped out during a 4th of July parade at 1500 miles. I was told by Chevrolet that I had the honor of being the first A6 to go in a car. Go figure... I got the A6 so my sweetie could drive and other than that the car's been fantastic and even better than my 99 coupe. However, that car was a M6. So as they say, "Mrs. Lincoln, how did ya like the play?"
