Just got the "magnacharger" on my vette yesterday{pics to follow} and have a vararam snake charmer that I wanted to add,but some folks I've talked to said it may not fit due to the fact the intake is at a slight angle!
Would like to know if anybody has a vararam on a maggie, and if so,does it fit well!
Sounds like your right, but other people have told me it would help draw "cold" air in,instead of the warm air from the oem air intake.
What do you think?
You have no need for the Vararam. The S/C doesn't need any help sucking in enough air to get the job done! You're wasting your money on that other stuff!

Thank you for your quick answer!
Do you know for a fact that the vararam is a waste!{peolpe keep telling me it brings more cold air}
If it is ,I have a buyer for it right now!!

What i'm saying is that the MAGGIE will give you upwords of 100 H.P gain, and is efficient to the point where that Vararam spacer will not make a difference. You're getting an intercooled supercharger, that's the ultimate bang for your buck.ALL the other stuff, spacer, airfilter etc,is nickel and dime stuff that all together dont add to 1/10th the gain from that supercharger!!!I've heard of a 5-8 hp gain,on some occasions with that spacer..in your case it's a waste because you have the MAGGIE.The MAGGIE will suck in enough cold air for 100 spacers!!

I think you misunderstood his question, I interpreted he is mainly interested in the Vararam itself for sucking in colder air from outside the engine bay, no doubt the spacer would probably be insignificant at his point in mods..

I would use it. But ask the tuner who installed it, he should have some advice.
By the way, the original vararam did have an angle. They did a re design and it is supposed to be straighter. I have my new part setting in the garage waiting to be changed out.
that blower is going to heat up the intake air quite a bit just by the compression. i doubt the vararam would make much of a difference to the final temp of the air after the intercooler. if you had a way to read the air temp it would make a good test! try it with the vararam and without and let us know what you find out.
We've had some customers inquire about this but we haven't installed the combo yet. I use a Maggie on my C6 and will be installing a VaraRam soon. This induction is usually good for 2-3 tenths and 2-3 MPH in the 1/4 so it should be benefical feeding a supercharged motor.
hey george,
like i mentioned at the meet , you are sucking in air that is in your engine compartment compared to sucking in air from outside, it will be benefitial to install the intake, and it shouldnt be that difficult for someone who knows what they are doing. like another guy said cold air=hp.
Paul pointed out something about your hood that got me thinking, he said that the way it is designed is great for introducing cold air into your engine compartment but it doesnt do much about extracting the hot air out. u have you 2 see his hood on his c5, its a great design that gets cold air in and sucks the hot air out.
also dont forget that if you take your car someplace to try and have your intake installed i will give you my upper so they can experiment with that. i think if they do a little trimming it should fit and definitly help you get cooler air into your engine.
btw love the car, great job. sounds great looks great, congrats

Greg,I didn't talk to you too much at the first "meet"{being busy and all},but after talking to you today,I find you are a really nice guy and look forward to seeing you next time!
