Default Possibly very odd electrical? issue yesterday...

First a little background... 2005 Z51 MN6 with about 4K miles. Although I just bought the car (used) about a month ago, I'm not aware of any problems that this car has had.

Several times in the last month I've been driving along and noticed that all of a sudden the AC was off. I'm still giving it an excellent chance that I may have inadvertantly turned the AC off while shifting but don't know for certain.

Now, yesterday, I'm driving along and I notice that again the AC is turned off. I turn it back on and comment to my wife that we need to really start watching this issue better. I then notice that I've possibly turned the radio down to a non-audible level. I turn it back on and instantly notice that ALL of my FM 1/2, AM 1/2, and XM 1/2 presets are completely changed. I reset my FM 1 presets and continue the drive. About 20 minutes later, I notice that all of the XM 1/2 presets have returned to "normal" and are back as I'd previously had them programed. I go to AM and all of these are still wrong.

Also, earlier that morning I had set the memory seats for me and my wife but this shouldn't possibly change the radio presets should it?

Any ideas or am I going crazy?

The car stores a different set of presets for driver 1 and driver 2. Were both fobs in the car? The car may have become confused as to which fob was in control.

I've confirmed with my wife that her fob was NOT in the car.

Default many electrical problems

I have a 2005 with a little under 5 grand on her. I have had her in the shop for a passenger side door not working, they changed the 'door computer'. Also, the airbag light coming on intermittently, which I see on another thread, and they changed a 'relay'. Now... I have seen the problem with the pre-sets on my radio re-setting. I thought nothing of it at first, only happend 2 times in a few months, I tried to get in the car the other day, and my battery was dead, couldn't even open the door!!! OK, I trickle charged it, good to go, until 3 days later, I was able to get in the car, but she won't start! How depressing!!! I am not doing anything stupid, like not keeping it in Reverse, guess I'll call the dealer, maybe a bad battery? Don't know yet!?

Wishing I could drive in these beautiful summer months

I've had NO OTHER PROBLEMS that indicate a bad battery or other "mistakes" that the computer might be making...

I have the same year Z51 MN6 and when I go into near or full throttle the A/C shuts off. I thought this was programmed into the car.

Hmmm... full throttle causing the AC to turn off... I now seem to recall that my previous Vette did that but had forgotten. That still wouldn't explain the radio presets but would explain the AC. Can anyone confirm this?

The ECM does declutch the A/C compressor during WOT acceleration. But it starts it back up as soon as you let off.

So that still wouldn't explain my situation... My AC control panel has completely gone blank during these couple of instances.

The display doesn't even know it is happening.

Thanks, for the information. I never realized that the ECM declutched the sucker during WOT. It makes sense but I had never really thought about it. The dog once again knows all.

Sounds like a "bad" ground to me. Let the dealer figure it out since it is under warranty. The reason I say this is that the display goes blank.

Just my guess based on what I was told by GM when we left the court house after my C6 case.
