Default Handling Modes?

Just got a 07 C6. There is a handling mode that is "Traction Control Off". Isn't that the same as "Competition Mode"?

I think Comp mode loosens up the active handling a little. Both modes do have the TC off. Maybe someone else can verify this.

That may be the difference. The "Competition Mode" my C5 Z06 saved me a couple times but scared me also. Once I had an extreme tank slapper going entering the E-Way in third gear. I thought I was going around, couldn't catch up on the steering. I heard the brakes working and the active handling straightened me right up. It got pretty loose but didn't go around. It got loose enough to cause a pretty good pucker. The 150 shot got the Z loose a lot. I never ran in "Traction Control Off" mode in the Z to feel the difference. In fact not really sure it had that mode.

No the C5 and the C5 Z had TC/AH off, comp mode, and TC/AH on I believe.

This question comes up often enough it should be a sticky.

Default when you start the car = T/C and A/H both on.

First press and release = T/C off (ONLY). DIC states "T/C off"

Second press and release = Competion Mode; T/C off and A/H interference reduced. DIC states "Competition Mode".

Third press and HOLD for aprx.10 seconds = T/C and A/H off and thats what the DIC states.

You can also get T/C and A/H off on the first press of the button by holding it for aprx. 10 seconds.

Do people even bother to read their owners manuals anymore?
