Default Torque Wheels

I have a 2006 MZ6/Z51 built 6/21/06 w/1400 miles on it. I finally got around to checking the lug nuts for proper torque. 3 of the nuts out of the total four wheels were torqued properly. About a half a dozen were very loose. On one I thought my torque wrench broke since I had to take several turns.

Highly recommend taking the time on your new 07's (and/or other C6's) to check lug nut torque.

Best of Luck on your new vehicles.

Sounds normal. Many members have reported the same thing.

On our 2006 they were correct from the factory, but any aluminum wheel will develope loose nuts after a bit of use. My technique is to retorque them at just 20 miles, then every 100 miles until I get two tries where they are tight.

My wheels have been on the car for about 9k miles, I retorqued them just before a 3,400 mile road trip and checked again when we got home, some of them had loosened a little.

Do you guys just check them with the car on the ground...or do you jack it up before checking?

Recently installed wheel locks and checked the torque all the way round. Right on 100lbs each wheel, each nut at 850mi.

I don't know what they do but whatever, I like the way mine was delivered. It also had 8 mi on the odo. They said that meant that mine got additional QA testing - whatever that entailed. Bottom line - I love my C6 more than I did my C5 and boy did I love THAT car!!!
