How do they fit? I know the question of fitting stock cats with LTs comes up often and the answer is always a clear "no". I assume the flanges/end pipes are removed and they are just welded into the H pipe? If that's the case I wouldn't exactly call it fittting just fine, more like modified to fit just fine.

I then gutted them and my tuner made a tune that still passes tailpipe smog tests

We would use an off road pipe, cut a gutted cat in half and weld it on to the outside of an off road pipe

BTW getting back to the original problem...... did a new tune fix the problem ?

Maybe, but it seems to me most of the problems he cites are common tuning issues that are not hard to fix. As far as heat issues I and many others have not had any problems with our headers. I would call it misinformation or maybe misdirection.

I have disconnected my battery many times and so far the car did not explode.

And the legal issues, well gutting your cats is just as illegal as moving or taking them off. And most states do not have visual inspections anyway.

I just did not see the logic in the post to be honest.
