Has anyone figured out whether the larger glove box is possible to acheive in the 05/06 C6? I haven't seen pics of the new box, so I dont even know if its worth it...
I heard that it might be retrofitable on the 2006s but maybe not on the 2005s, something about a module or a sensor (that was in the very spot where the glove box size was increased for 2007) that existed on the '05s but was removed on the '06s but somehow the new one wasn't implemented until '07...or something like that LOL.
This 2007 glove box that I saw looks just like our 2005-2006 boxes, but with the airbag switch module now removed. Maybe someone with a service manual could see how much of a job it would be to remove & replace with the new lid. It looks like this part is color-keyed to the interior, so could be expensive!

I have a late model 2006 also and my manual fits. However if you look at the 2007 pic above, look near the bottom right corner of where the manual is... on the 2006 boxes, there is a raised plastic section there that has a plug on it...where the switch was on the 2005 airbag. If we used the new 2007 box, it would increase the capacity by that much.

Or... I wonder if `06 owners can just cut that raised plastic section out.
I must have gotten the oversized glove box in my 06. I have all my paperwork, the Nav DVD, my owners manual, sunglasses and case, and still have room left for a few other small items. This is the only time I have ever been lucky in my life.
Trick is to stick the Owner's Manual in vertically at the back of the glovebox (e.g. towards the firewall).........that frees up what little space there is for whatever else you've got in mind.
