I've noticed, especially when the car is cold or been sitting for a while, what sounds like a vibration/rattling noise when I start the car. I hear it only when the car is standing still with the clutch depressed (of course) when the car is initially started. The noise is not present once the car settles into idle, or if I rev the engine in neutral/clutch depressed. Any ideas as to what could cause this noise? Something loose? My mods are in my signature.

I have an automatic and I still hear this rattling sound. Sounds like piston slap or tappet noise and it goes away very quickly. My LS1 never made this much noise on start-up.
Mine too. Sounds like bad valve clatter for about 2 seconds right after the engine starts. It happens only occcasionally. Trying not to worry about it...
