popping from exhaust
Just had headers, airbox and tuning done to my 2006 Z51. When I let off the accelerator or downshift I notice popping from the exhaust (Corsa sports). Its moderate but annoying. Anyone else with this? Remedy if any? Thanks for the help as always.

The popping is normal and most people like it.
If my car (Corsa Sports) did not pop or burble on deceleration and downshifting I'd be upset.
Maybe it is worse with the addition of headers?

Did you leave the "H" pipe in? Installing an "X" pipe seems to solve the issue. Personally I love that "burble"

Have B&B X-Pipe and Corsa Sports - pops a little - no big deal. I kind of like it.

I have Dynatech headers, high-flow cats and X-pipe and Corsa Sports. My car pops, gurgles, etc. I really like this sound, though.

Popping and burble are the sounds of power. I love it with my Bullets. Camrys don't pop, so.......

Me too. Got headers, x-pipe and GHLs and lots of popping and burble on decel.
I really like it. BTW, x-pipe did nothing to eliminate popping for me.

You may even have fire from the tips every now and then on decel.

I'm just going to throw this in for thought.
I put Hooker sidepipes on my 68 and ended up with popping on decel, I asked here on site as well as asking some local guys in the know and was told it could be one of three things.
1- exhaust gasket leak
2- timing issue
3- carb needed tuning
I haven't fixed it yet but I found a exhaust leak.
Thought you might want to check these things out, I find the popping annoying and don't believe it's the sound of power.

Depending on mods and exhaust setup, it is normal.

I should've explained that I only get the popping from the drivers side and that's where I found the exhaust leak.
I'm running a 385 FastBurn crate motor with the 1:6 roller rockers and the Hotcam, supposedly 430hp/430 ftlbs.
I like the sound on decel until I get the shotgun sounding pop.

Procharger, Kooks headers and GHL.
I gotta tell ya, call me crazy, but I'd be pissed if the popping stopped -
I love it!

Normal sound of a high compression engine with a low restriction exhaust.
