Looks like my radio died. I got into my car (an 06 C6) started the engine and started toggling through my display to check oil pressure, tire pressure and noticed after 2 or 3 changes the usual beep stopped. I still could change displays and check my mileage or mpg but no sound. After 5 minutes or so, I went to put on the radio. No Radio! The display comes on for 3 seconds showing only the time then it goes off. The radio is not completely dead since I can eject my CD's. The only other activity I see is the LED in the upper left is flashing red. It usually a solid green but not anymore..
I don't see any error messages or other information. Anyone run into this?

I'm gonna check my fuses on the outside chance.
try rebooting the car to see if the issue continues. i have found that a quick shut-down and restart seems to remedy some of these electrial gremlins. it doesn't fix it, just resets what ever was causing the issue.
there is a tsb for non-operative or malfunctioning stereo, can't remember the number right now. will look for it later.

When I got home last night I sat with the the shop manual and unsuccessfully tried to find a reference to my symptoms. Went back to the car ready to spend the night looking but when I turned the car to accessory, the radio worked and everything returned to normal. I'm glad it works but MAN I hate gremlins!
Thanks Zig...Good Call! It looks like the reboot did the trick. Thanks!
Had a similar situation with the CD player in my '05....ejected a CD & when I tried to insert another, it wouldn't load and message like "mech error" appeared. Monkeyed around for a while & then resigned myself to a (dreaded) Dealer visit. Lo & behold, on next start up, all was fine. The reboot (or restart) suggestion is now the 1st thing I do with any electrical gremlin. BTW....hasn't been any repeat.

Last resort, do a hard boot. Disconect the battery for a few minutes.
My 05 silver coupe starting doing that about 2-3 months after I got it. The display on my radio would come on and stay on, but there was no sound. I could kill the engine and restart it and all was okay, but about a week later, it did it again.
To make a long story short, the dealer first tried reprogramming the radio, which took about 45 minutes. That lasted about 2-3 weeks. The next time, he replaced the radio. I never had any more trouble with it the last 12 months I had the car.
