let me know what you think. its a daily driver and its a florida car so it does see rain. are the performance advantages worth it to go with an intake? i like the honker and vararam from what i have seen but read some good stuff about the drop in filters in the stock box.
I've put about 2,100 miles on my Vararam in the last three weeks. It's my daily driver and I've already been caught in the rain a couple of times. No problems with hydro-lock and I did notice a seat of the pants difference in power above 3,500 rpm. It definitely pulls harder especially from highway speeds.
I did search all over the net trying to find someone that had hydro-locked their engine using one of these before I bought mine. I only found one person that hydro-locked their car and they submersed the entire nose of the car, water over the hood, before it hydro-locked. In that case, it would of probably hydro-locked with the stock set-up. I've been caught once already on the highway in a downpour and had no problems at all. IMO, I think that as long as you're not using your Vette as a submarine you should be fine.
