Why am im not beating my friend by much, I have a Stinger and Corsa sport, and he has a K&N intake and Borla. His car beats other M3 s like his, by almost a car lenght from a roll. But why from 40 to 100 I hardly put a car lenght?!
I have manual and we both shift really fast. I know what he has because we are best friends and we did the roll at 40 in 2nd gear. For my gearing, where would i have the upper hang, so i make him look bad
M3s are pretty strong from a roll where their higher weight and lower torque output don't hurt them as much. They have decent highway gearing too I think.
Run him from a dig like a REAL drag race is supposed to be.

I'd think you'd stomp him!
Maybe start in first gear?
Are you switching to 'competitive mode'?
Hmm. I have to assume that is a sweet spot for the M3 because you should pull away in any gear. I've raced a few and it was over very quickly but my car has a couple of mods.
For an M3, a roll at 40 is just about ideal given its gearing. Bump that up or down 10mph and the advantage would swing even more your way. As a poster above observed, a win is a win. To get the several lengths you seem to be wanting, as another poster observed, you'll need a full quarter. This all results from GM's obsession with avoiding the gas guzzler tax and the 28mpg highway EPA rating, contrasted with BMW's gearing to maximize performance. BMW controls top speed electronically, not through gearing. Remove the speed limiter and the M3 might hit 175 or more. Remember, top end for the Corvette is reached in fifth not sixth. This effectively lengthens gearing throuhout the range. Make top speed achievable in sixth and you'd bump acceleration in 4 to 6 substantially because you would have another accelerating gear.
I took one on the highway pretty easy in my c5,so You should pull alot more than one car to 100.Start at 15 to 20 in first and I bet you add 2 more cars at least. If you really want to whip him then just do it the safe and right way and both of you go to a quarter track. You should be at least a half second ahead.
