I put my car on the dyno today at the Corvettes at Carlisle event. It pulled an SAE corrected 349.7 HP and 346.3 TQ.
My question relates to the Air/Fuel ratio.
My ratios were as follows:
14.5 @ 2600 rpm
14.0 @ 2800 rpm
13.2 @ 2900 rpm
12.5 @ 3100 rpm
12.1 @ 3700 rpm
12.0 @ 4000 rpm
11.9 @ 4200 rpm
11.5 @ 4900 rpm
11.3 @ 5200 rpm
11.4 @ 5500 rpm
11.5 @ 6000 rpm
and it stayed at 11.5 all the way to the 6500 rpm redline.
Do these numbers look ok? Should I get it tuned? Will tuning get me any more horsepower/torque?
My only engine related mods are the Vararam intake and Magnaflow 15884 cat-backs.
12.8 doesn give more TQ than being lean. He isnt in open loop at the 14:1 readings. 13.2 leveling to 13.0:1 is optimum. The above a/f ratios indicate that cat overtemp is on. 10-12rwhp is in the tune/w-fueling.
