There is a release tab you have to depress, and then the socket will twist and remove from the lamp housing.

Yep, but it is still tough. I did the stealth bulbs in mine and it is a tight place to get too and turn it.

Default Changing turning bulbs

This is a reply I received from "Shopdog" on the same issue I had a while back. This was very useful. I agree it is difficult, but with patience it actually worked. Good luck!

There are 3 sockets, the things with wires coming out of them, which are exposed when you open the flap. The one furtherest to the outside of the car is the one for the turn signals/DRL. Feel around on it with your fingers down near where it enters the reflector housing. You should feel a projection. That is the tab. Depress it, then the socket should turn fairly easily in the reflector housing. One quarter turn will unlock it, and you should be able to easily pull it out. Don't use excessive force. If it won't come out with normal force, you don't have it unlocked properly. Sometimes you have to jiggle it a bit to make it come free.

FYI. I had the front right DRL go out twice. Found out there is a service bulletin. Some problem with wiring. They fixed it no problem since.
