Default Service Active Handling

06 C6 Z51 with about 4K miles.

Pulling out of a restaurant parking lot at lunch today I got a beep, the active handling light came on and the DIC said "Service Active Handling." Turning active handling off and on did not resolve the problem.

Next startup everything had returned to normal.

Anyone have a clue what caused this litte "transient anomoly"?

Same problem.
Take it to the dealer.
They replaced a steering sensor and secured the harness at the base of the steering column.Problem solved.

I think there is a TSB.Others here on the forum told me the same thing I just told you.It is common.

Good luck

Yes, take it to the dealer like I did and get it fixed. Mine was covered under warranty.

You can take it to the dealer or in 15 min just do it yourself and save the headache. Typically its the wiring harness and there is a TSB on it. Simply pop off the panel under the steering column. At the bottom you see a big wire harness and connector. Unplug it and then plug it back in. Get a small wire tie and wrap around it so it wont come apart (loose) again as you move the steering column if you move it. I dont once its set and Im the only driver. Since I did mine the same way the dealer will IAW the TSB never got a DIC message again and no dealer headache. If I get it again then I will seek the dealer.

Be sure your dealer knows there is a bulletin on this, otherwise they will pull your steering column apart to replace a sensor. The bulletin just calls for resecuring some wires and connector that get pulled loose.

Had the quick fix done on mine but i had to tell the tech about the bulletin.

Thanks for the help guys. Does anyone know what the TSB number is on this little problem? I try to make it as simple as possible for my small town dealer.

After reading your post a couple of weeks ago, I went looking for the panel to pop off. On a C6, where is this panel cause I never saw it.
