I have the exact same problem. Its almost like they cut the silicone coupler about an inch too short. I just give it a little room on the MAS side so some metal shows and its been holding tight ever since. Just make sure its as snug as possible and you have the coupler as far down on the plastic shroud as possible.

best of luck

Dave

Buy the LPE or Callaway CAI and don't worry about it.

Couldn't you just run over to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a slightly longer coupler???

That is what I would do, otherwise I'd be worrying that it would pop off everytime I drove.

You hear about more problems associated with the build quality of the Vararam here than any other CAI system.

If there is going to be a build quality, or fitment issue discussed about someone's CAI, its almost always the Vararam and virtually never the Callaway or the Lingenfelter.

Here's what I did. Call Vararam, tell them the problem, and they'll send you the 2" rubber connector @ no charge.

My guess is that you do not have the spacer? With the spacer installed the neck of the VR attaches directly to the MAF and is clamped. Of course the instructions show a coupler being needed, so until I figured it out I was going around thinking I was missing a part.

Default Need help getting VaraRam Installed.....

They sent me a bigger section of the material and that helped. I suspect they will do whatever you want, based upon my experience with them. Now, I need some help myself with the installation.

I have had problems too. I bought my unit in March and it did not fit well. The top peice did not overlap enough with the filter installed to provide a safe overlap and complete seal. I complained to VaraRam and they were very quick to help me. It turns out they were redesigning the product to make that correction, along with a couple of other changes. I was very impressed that they were doing this, and did so very quickly.

Any company willing to jump through that much deserves my patience and I am willing to keep trying. Now I am having more problems. By the way, the reason I have delayed installing it was due to recalls and two replacements of my Heat/AC unit. It keeps blowing hot air when the AC is on! The car has been at the dealer for over 3 weeks this summer! And the fuel pump issue is still not fixed, I didn't want to leave it another week for that problem too!

Now I am trying to install the new product and I cannot get it to line up properly. I have tried everything I know to make it work. I suspect I am doing something wrong, but I cannot figure it out.

It's installed in my Corvette and it doesn't line up right. The intake is about 3" to 4" to high and the hood won't even close. I even tried flipping over the bar that attaches the lower section to the Corvette and that didn't work. I enlarged the opening too, but that didn't work. I am now wondering if the cutout has to be flush at the bottom??? My instructions were not that good, and I used the template they sent me, it was far from accurate and I have enlarged it three times!

Any ideas out there? Anyone with good pictures I could see?

Thanks!
