I actually polished the tips last night in the garage and also tried doing the muffler can. I was just using a micro-fiber towel by hand and it did make a difference. I am going to get my drill and a power ball and i think it will shine very nice. I have the Borla Touring system.
This is just a hand polish, not machine, the checkering on it is the reflection of the tile floor.
Awesome! Not sure if I have the patience to polish it like that. How long did it take to polish (use any polish available at auto parts stores?)? Better question is, how long does that look last. I drive mine daily, so my muffler tips are usually pretty stained in a week.

Use the Maguire's all metal polish or equivalent, the new line of metal polishes tend to last much longer than the old standards. I only touch it up at 3 month intervals.
I painted mine with silver heat paint and it looks great. I just didn't like the weld marks on all the connections and it would have been too hard to buff all of them out by hand.
Although come to think of it I could have - I had them sitting in the garage for two months before I got my car delivered.
