Default LS2 PCV System Description

Can someone please provide a description of the LS2s PCV system, and maybe a few pixs of the setup on the car if possible?

Was wondering if the LS2 could benefit from a PCV oil catch can, and if the front end of the RH engine head is open and has threaded holes in it like the LS1/LS6 for a catch can location. Pixs of this area would be highly benifical also.

If so, there will be an awesome oil vapor catch can available soon from one of the forum vendors that could be used on the LS2 .

Thanks!

Thanks for the link ... very helpful !

From what I've been reading, it sounds like there is no PCV valve in the LS2 system, but there is a 2.5 mm diameter orifice built into the valley cover metal tube that comes out the valley cover assembly. Is that correct? If so, adding an oil catch can is an easy fix to the excessive oil issue.

I'm putting the catch in mine this week when I do the heads. I've heard that on a motor that pulls a lot of air like mine, the catch cans don't really help much. But, we'll see.

There is a PCV valve, the dealer replaced mine due to high high consumption with no ring leakage.

Humm ... I was under the impression from reading lots of info that there wasn't really a PCV valve on the LS2s like on the LS1/LS6s, but there was a built in 2.5 mm diameter orifice in the tube that comes off the front of the valley cover. There is some kind of baffling, etc inside the valley cover that is supposed to separate the oil before it leaves the valley cover and goes into the intake manifold.

What year is your C6 with LS2?

Do you guys ever check for oil in the valve cover vent to airbridge line?

You might be surprized how much oil will get sucked in there during WOT !!
