TPS activate tool advice
Anyway, I have some advice for the tool. It is also mentioned in beezeye's instructions but I thought I would emphasize it here.
The tool requires fresh strong batteries to work. There is a nice little storage compartment in the storage box. Each time you use it take out the three c batteries and just lay them in your box. Then reinstall next time you need to use it. If you don't you will only get about two or three uses out of a set of batteries.
The batteries will not be dead but not strong enough for the tool to work properly. Use the old ones in a flashlight or something.
I know, big deal. But I thought it might save someone from getting in a jam with dead batteries.

Good info!
One of the other forum members that got one sent me a PM asking if I knew what was the matter with his TPM tool -all the writing on the screen was upside down and backwards, like a mirror image. I told him the only thing I could think of was maybe he put the batteries in backwards, which he had not done.
It turned out that everything came back to normal when he put in fresh batteries!
If you're just fooling around with it just checking tire pressures, the J-46915 TPM tool will go through some c-cell batteries pretty quickly.
The TIPS tool I have available now doesn't have a screen, so it doesn't lend itself to playing around with it quite so much - you can't read your tire pressures with it, but it is a great tool.
