Ever have a light car with a high compression engine in 1st at idle in a parking lot? This "phenomenon" fixes that little problemo. Just try to apply throttle smoothly...LOL!

The reason I brought up my question in the first place is because, I don't get enough engine braking when I'm driving very easy. Things are okay if I'm doing 60+ and drop it 1 or two gears to 3rd. But at low speeds in traffic ... I'll gently pull away from a light in 1st gear and when I suddenly come off the gas 'cause traffic is abruptly slowing my car is still accelerating. The lag isn't long but it is clearly noticeable. It's almost like having an auto trans (leaving it in Drive). I think they make it easy for people who haven't quite got the technique down of balancing rev's and speed. It makes for smoother shifts but with this much horse power slow decel throttle response is NG ! I like it quick in both directions ! But thanks...

yes, i also prefer a more immediate response (direct cable), i was simply refering to the ability for one to be more aggressive during an acceleration run. if the rpms don't drop as quickly it is easier for one to complete a shift before they (the rpms) drop out of the powerband.
