I looked into some pricing on some Movit brakes as I noticed on their site they showed them mounted with stock C6 wheels.
When I inquired how they were able to do that, their two piece rotor hats have custom depths according to the wheels you are running.
So this got me to thinking (uh-oh!!)
If they can do this, why can't other manufacturers?
I am sure the costs involved for custom hats might be costly but if the consumer wants to pay - well then!!
What are the technical disadvantages of moving the caliper further inboard?
I have a C6 and would like to do the Z06 style wheels (18x9.5 & 19x11) along with a bbk (stoptech, wilwood, baer) and a custom rotor hat sure seems like a nice way to accomplish it without going to costly custom wheels.
Do a search on movit brakes. There were some technical issues with them, reported on this forum. I also initally liked them, considered them, but then declined them for some reason.
If movit brakes are out of your price range you could use a spacer with one of other kits you mentioned. Just a thought. I have a set of either 7 or 8mm hub-centric vette spacers that are anodized black. I'll sell them to you for what I paid for them. IM me if you want them.
